Aluminum Welding

Performance Aluminum Fabrication takes great pride in the quality of each and every weld. TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding aluminum is well know for its high level of difficulty. Because of this, many shops refuse to weld aluminum. PAF loves welding aluminum. So much so, that over 90% of our business is aluminum manufacturing. When choosing a welding shop its a good idea to have them show you examples of their welds. If something as basic as their welds are not up to par, it will give you a good foundation in which to judge the overall quality and attention to detail of the buisness.

But how can I tell a good weld from a bad one?

With aluminum its all about consistency. You want to see a consistant shiny overlapping "stack of dimes" look. You do not want to see any smoky spots on or around the welds. This is a sign of improper welding procedures, or an operator error.

Anodized Aluminum Welding

 What's anodized aluminum?

Anodizing is a process that creates a thicker than normal oxide layer. This layer increases the corrosion resistance, making it perfect for marine fabrication (t-tops, towers, rod holders, leaning posts). Not only is this material very resistant to corrosion, It comes in beautiful finshes.

Tube & Pipe Bending

PAF has a full hydraulic tube bender. We can bend round tube from 1/2" to 2.5" diameter, and up to 2" sch 40 pipe. This gives us the capability to bend both steel and aluminum.
